| Lucent buys Mosaix
Lucent Technologies has bought Mosaix, a provider of workflow software, in an all-stock deal worth $145m. The telecoms equipment giant said the acquisition will flesh out its call centre product portfolio with customer relationship management (CRM) technology. CRM involves the use of technologies such as datawarehousing and computer telephony integration (CTI) by companies which wish to strengthen their ties with their customers. Susen Sarkar, a senior analyst at the Yankee Group, said: "This type of deal is important. The call centre customer is increasingly looking for a complete solution rather than putting together equipment from several different vendors." Lucent said the deal will enable users to keep their customers "coming back again and again - whether through the door, the mail, the phone, the fax or the Web".

This had become a routine for these families and that night the parents expected the team van to arrive at about 11:30 p.m. Weather conditions were deteriorating but several of the players - who had lost their game in Moncton and were due to play Saturday near Bathurst - had called to say they were almost home. Midnight came and went. There was no sign of the van and parents were beginning to worry. Then came the call from police: There had been an accident. They were to go to the hospital. .

MyRichUncle’s Under-the-Radar Buy

The company’s management team, said Adam Park, had, "with the help of outside funding," bought Embark from the Princeton Review, its owner since 2001. Inside Track v25n13
Intel is doing everything it can to catch up to performance leader AMD with a lot of promises about quad core and other hot chips mapped out for the next few years. AMD is not letting up. Meanwhile, if users can get hold of Intel's D 805 chip, they will quickly discover that it can be overclocked to an extreme at 4.1 GHz and will outperform almost anything else on the market. The D 805 sells for less than $150. Intel has in the past thrown into the channel chips like the D 805 that turn out to be high-end chips just downgraded and repackaged. One has to assume that running the chip at more than 4 GHz is done at your own risk. This gets Intel off the hook if the machine blows up. I'm convinced it's doing this as some sort of viral marketing scheme. Well, it works! The Dell-AMD connection.
