Leading Analyst Firm Advises Buyers to Place Xactly on Shortlist for ...

Nightingale expands services to U.S. care provider

MARKHAM, Ont. Nightingale Informatix Corp., a Canadian and U.S.-based developer of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Practice Management solutions, announced a $1.6 million contract to provide its enterprise EMR application to the Center for Disability Services (CFDS), based in Albany, New York.

CFDS is an existing customer, utilizing Nightingales Entity Practice Management solution, and will acquire Nightingales EMR solution in order to better track clinical information on patients and improve operational efficiency.

Under the terms of the agreement, Nightingale will license its CCHIT-certified EMR solution to CFDS in return for approximately $1.6 million in license, implementation and training fees over the term of the agreement. Implementation will begin in January 2007 and is expected to be rolled out to 220 healthcare practitioners in phases throughout 2007 and into 2008.

The e-mail message last month from the president of Embark, a company whose software colleges use to process online applications from students, promised big changes for its customers. The company’s management team, said Adam Park, had, "with the help of outside funding," bought Embark from the Princeton Review, its owner since 2001. "The infusion of fresh capital," Park wrote, "will allow us to dramatically improve the products you are using, improve all of our services (including our accounting services), and provide the most stable and user friendly website in the business."

ARRIS to Acquire TANDBERG TV for US$1.2 Billion

ARRIS launched a bid to acquire TANDBERG Television, a leading supplier of digital video and IPTV hardware, software and services for approximately US$1.2 billion in cash and newly issued ARRIS shares. ARRIS is a leading supplier of VoIP, data broadband network equipment, including cable modem termination systems (CMTS), and consumer premises devices. ARRIS has a strong North American presence among cable operators, while TANDBERG TV offers deep expertise in encoding technologies, along with an international list of customers.

ARRIS said the acquisition would give it the depth and scale to prosper in the high growth video content creation, management and distribution markets. The combined company will have a significant global presence with over 1600 employees and 2000+ customers in more than 100 countries.
